Recycling Centre Booking System

Published: 10 February 2026

The new Recycling Centre Booking System is live for Weston‑super‑Mare Recycling Centre.  After a monitoring period at Weston-super-Mare, the council will look to extend the system to the Portishead and Backwell sites from Monday 2 March.  This change has been introduced to make visiting our recycling centres quicker, safer and more efficient, and to help us reduce queues, manage site safety, and ensure the centres are used appropriately.

How residents can book:

👉 From the North Somerset Council app

Slots can be booked:

  • up to two weeks in advance, or
  • as little as 10 minutes before a slot, if available

Residents will receive a confirmation email, and reminders before their visit.

Support for residents without internet access

Residents can:

  • ask someone else (friend, neighbour, family member) to make a booking for them
  • computers are available in the libraries and a visit can be booked here. Library staff are willing to help with this if required.
  • Phone calls to the council will go through to an automated system which takes around 5-6 minutes per call. If residents struggle with this,  they will be transferred to a member of the contact centre. It is quicker and easier to book online.
