Recycle Your Electricals Campaign

Published: 21 September 2021

Did you know - discarded old electrical items are one of the fastest growing waste streams in the world! Last year over 50 million tonnes were thrown away globally.

Here in North Somerset we’re supporting Recycle Your Electricals, which is urging us all to stop binning our old electricals - and start to reuse or recycle them instead! Everything with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled and transformed into anything from life-saving equipment to children’s playgrounds.

It’s easy:

1. Bag up your old electricals and prepare them for recycling - the Recycle Your Electricals website has some handy info:

2. Small electrical items with a plug or a battery (up to the size of a kettle or toaster) can be placed on the top of your kerbside recycling boxes on collection day

3. Larger items can be taken to one of the three North Somerset recycling centres or find your nearest reuse or recycling point at: recycleyourelectricals.org.uk
