Police Advice on Ways to Protect Against Catalytic Convertor Theft

I’m sure you are aware recently we have had an increase of thefts of Catalytic convertors.
Unfortunately we had 2 on the 11th and we believe an attempted one.
Overnight on the 15th/16th we have had 2 more stolen on Stowey road.
In all these cases it appears that the exhausts have been cut using a power tool.
The advice we have put on the beat pages is as follows:
“There are ways of making your catalytic converters safe with different devices clamps etc so we ask that you do your research.
We would advise to leave your vehicle in a well-lit area when parked or on a driveway with cctv if possible, the equipment used to cut a catalytic converter is heavy duty and can be completed within minutes.”
