Yatton Area Bee Project - YABeeP - a community based voluntary project launched March 2009 to help save our bees. YABeeP uses sustainable methods to protect the local bee population in order to increase the number of healthy honey, bumble and solitary bees in the area - our friendly pollinators. With monthly meetings through the spring to autumn YABeeP will support you to become as involved as you want, from bee friendly gardening right through to keeping your own bees using natural bee keeping methods.

A Cafe for Yatton Station

The Strawberry Line Cafe Project Community Interest Company (CIC) has been formed to progress the project to provide a cafe in the redundant downside platform buildings at Yatton station. Community Interest Companies are a form of social enterprise and the company will put its profits back into the community. The cafe will provide real-life work experience for young people with learning disabilities and serve refreshments to rail users and other station visitors and Strawberry Line users. The steering group (with representatives from the Brandon Trust, Mencap, North Somerset Council, Friends of Yatton Station and Severnside Community Rail Partnership) is grateful for all the local support and in-kind help it has received so far, and is especially grateful to Dr Liam Fox MP for becoming our Patron.
